PIERCETON, IN
Paul W. Browning, 95, went to
be with the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2013, from his home near Pierceton,
Indiana.
He was born on June 15, 1918,
in Muncie, Indiana, to Vernard and Harriet (Hyatt) Browning.
Paul was a 1935 graduate of
Royerton High School. He attended Manchester College (1935-36) and Purdue
University. He then married Cordelia May
Funderburg on August 24, 1941, in Elgin,
Illinois.
Paul worked at Westinghouse
in Muncie, retiring in 1978. He then
moved to Pierceton, where he started Deka-Di Riding Stables.
Paul was a member of the
Union Grove Church of the Brethren from 1953 to 1978. He then became a member of the North Webster Church of the
Brethren. Paul was a life-long contributor
to Heifer Project and also volunteered many hours for Habitat for Humanity.
He is survived by his
children: Pamela Shreves, Kay Sponseller (Jerome), Rita Breedlove, David
Browning (Deborah), and Kathy Browning, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren
and 5 great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents,
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Cordelia May Browning; three brothers:
Virgil, Robert, and Jim; and three sisters: Opal, Bertha, and Carol.
Funeral services will be held
at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, on Monday,
September 9, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Robert Wyman officiating. Burial will follow immediately in Union
Cemetery, Eaton.
Visitation for family and
friends will be at the North Webster Church of the Brethren, 7281 E 600 N,
North Webster, IN, on Sunday, September 8, 2013, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. and
one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in his
name to Heifer Project or Habitat for Humanity.
