Iva Vernice Norrick


EATON, IN

Iva Vernice Norrick, 93, passed away on February 28, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Muncie.

Vernice was born on September 10, 1922 in Delaware County to Walter and Dorothy (Smoot) Lewellen.  She was a graduate of Eaton High School, class of 1941.  On February 20, 1943, she married Robert Norrick in Eaton.  Together they would raise their two daughters and live the majority of their lives in Eaton.

Vernice was a homemaker but worked for JC Penny’s and also for The Family Store in Eaton.  She was a long-time member of the Eaton United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl McKinley (husband, Mike), Susie DeVault  (husband, Jack), a brother, Lavon Lewellen (wife, Wanda), half-brothers; Dick Haggard (wife, Barb), and Ron Haggard (wife, Karen), granddaughter, Amy Vandergriff, a great-grandson, Brayden Vandergriff, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Robert Norrick, Vernice was preceded in death by a brother, David Allen Lewellen and her step-father Clark Haggard.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Brian Waters officiating.  Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.

Visitation for friends and family will be on Wednesday at the funeral home, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.

Virginia McCallister


Eaton, IN

Virginia C. McCallister, 93, passed away on February 16, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Virginia was born in Delaware County on March 4, 1922 to Raymond and Sylvia (Matchett) Reynolds.  She attended Eaton schools and later married Charles McCallister.

Virginia worked for restaurant in Eaton and was a member of the American Legion Aux in Eaton.  She was a member of the Muncie South Foursquare Church in Muncie.

She is survived by a sister, Sandra Patterson (husband, Lee), two brothers, John Reynolds and Earl Reynolds, and her great-niece, Betty Jo Lewis, whom she raised as her own, three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Renee Reynolds, as well as several nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to her parents and her husband Charles, Virginia was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Lee Morris, five brothers: Richard Reynolds, Clifford Reynolds, Donald Reynolds, Phillip Reynolds, and Eugene Reynolds. 
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Warren Willie officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.

Visitation for friends and family will be at the funeral home on Friday from, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Lucy Myers


Dunkirk, IN
Lucy A. Myers, 88, passed away on February 10, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Dunkirk, Indiana.
Lucy was born on March 19, 1927 in Portland to Homer and Minnie (Blankenbaker) Vore.  She graduated from Redkey High School and married Lloyd Myers on August 15, 1945 in Lebanon, Missouri. 
Prior to working for Sheller Globe, Lucy and Lloyd owned and operated a restaurant  in Eaton.  Lucy loved to play bingo and spent much of her time babysitting her grandchildren.
Lucy is survived by her seven children: Alice (Kenny) Bennett, Herbert (Randa) Myers, Carrie Turner, Dorothy Poore, William “Billy” (Billie Jean) Myers, Floyd “Kenny” (Peggy) Myers, and Elizabeth Harker, 26 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and her sister Lovera Stockton.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lloyd, Lucy was preceded in death by two sons, Melvin Myers and Homer Myers;  ten brothers and sisters; three son-in-laws, Cliff Turner, Kelly Poore, and James “Bo” Harker, a granddaughter, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.  
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with Pastor Tom Fett officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 15, 2016 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
