Lloyd L. Myers


Dunkirk, IN
Lloyd L. Myers, 91, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Dunkirk, Indiana, leaving his wife, Lucy A. Myers of 68 years and seven children.  
Lloyd was born on July 15, 1921 to William and Martha (Exendine) Myers in Winnipeg, Missouri. He later married Lucy Vore on August 14, 1945 in Lebanon, Missouri.
He worked in Albany, Indiana at McCormick Brothers. Lloyd loved to fish, hunt and play bingo.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Lucy Myers; 7 children: Alice (Kenny) Bennett, Herbert (Randa) Myers, Carrie Turner, Dorothy Poore, William “Billy” (Billie Jean) Myers, Floyd “Kenny” (Peggy) Myers, and Elizabeth (James “Bo”) Harker, 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Thelma, Delila and Norma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-father, Melvin Rogers; 2 sons, Melvin Myers and Homer Myers;  a brother, Ules Myers; two son-in-laws, Cliff Turner and Kelly Poore, a granddaughter, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.  
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with Pastor Tom Fett officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 1, 2013 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Hannah M. Taylor


EATON, IN
Hannah M. Taylor, 94, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, Indiana.
Hannah was born on September 20, 1918 to Judson and Stella (Kuzak) Beck in Brookville, Ohio. She married Denzil “Huck” Taylor in 1940.
She graduated from Ball State University with both a Master’s and Doctorate degree. She worked as a school teacher in Albany for 2 years and then in Muncie for 22 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church in Muncie, belonged to the American Association of University Women, and AARP.
Hannah is survived by her son, Jerry (Jan) Taylor, 7 grandchildren; Brian Taylor, Chris Rooney, Jenna Rooney, Scott Rooney, Beth Rooney, Trisha Jensen, and Lori Lupica; 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 brother, and 10 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 and one hour prior the service on Wednesday.

Melvin A. Rees


EATON, IN

Melvin A. Rees, 86, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care in Muncie.
Melvin was born on October 9, 1926, in Redkey, Indiana to Arthur A.  and Martha “Louise” (Becknell) Rees and attended schools there. He married Martha Shultz in Redkey, July 27, 1946.
He served his country in the United States Navy, during WWII, aboard the USS President Monroe, in the South Pacific Theatre. He retired in 1987 after 42 years of employment with Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor. Melvin attended the Redkey Church of the Nazarene, had been a member of the American Legion Post #90, Eaton and was a member of the United Transportation Union of Cleveland.  
He is survived by his wife, Martha; 2 sons, Rick (Linda) Rees of Vincennes, IN, and Larry Rees of Eaton; two brothers, Elvin Rees of Redkey, and Kenneth Rees (Joann) of Hartford City; three grandchildren; Shane (Misty) Rees, Angie (Chad) Fisher and Ashley (Dane) Cantwell. Seven great-grandchildren; Makayla, Macey, and Mallory Fisher, Brooklynne, Savannah, and Madysen Rees, and Wyatt Cantwell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father on March 31, 1987, his mother on March 13, 1983 and twin sisters, Dorothy Rees on May 23, 1922 and Doris Holloway on June 30, 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with Pastor Rob Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie, with military rites by Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
