Nancy Jane Witter


Eaton,  IN

Nancy Jane Witter, 70, passed away on September 17, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC.  She was born on June 4, 1942 to Harry Burres and Marjorie Hines in Delaware County, Indiana.

She was employed at Delta Middles School for 20 years and also worked as a Purchase Agent for the U.S. Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. Nancy was a kind, loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone.

Survivors include her step-father, Robert Hines, Hernando, FL; two sons, Bradly (Carmen) Witter, Muncie, IN, and Jason Witter, Muncie, IN; two daughters, Jane Witter, LaGrange, NC, and Holly (Brian) Kimura, Davenport, IA; three aunts, Jean Mitchell, Gaston, IN, Martha Lovett, Nashville, IN, and Jackie Mansfield, Eaton, IN; as wells as eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M.  on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, Indiana, with Pastor Anna Shanks of the Eaton United Methodist Church officiating.

Friends and family may gather at the funeral home starting at 12:00 Noon, Saturday.

Doris L. Swingley


Robinson, IL

Doris L. Swingley, 80, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Robinson, Illinois.

Doris was born on March 25, 1933 in Lebanon, Missouri to Earl and Neva Jackson.

Survivors include her husband, Richard A. Swingley; two sons, Dr. James (SanDee) Feltt, and William E. Feltt; a daughter, Sharon L. Burtch; two step-children, Rodney (Kathy) Swingley, and Lucinda Swingley; nine grandchildren, Ron (Debbie) Hills, Kimberly Feltt, Julia Stein, Ian Feltt, Jackson Feltt, Trevon Burtch, Brayden Burtch, Rodney Swingley Jr., and Thomas Swingley; two great-grandchildren, Avery Stein, and James Swingley; a brother, Lowell Jackson; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Feltt; two sisters, Helen Webb, and Freda Louise Myers; two brothers-in-law, Clifford Webb, and Charles Myers; and a sister-in-law, Rosie Jackson.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana, with Rev. Penny Brown officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, Illinois and from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society.

Edna L. Johnson


Hartford City,
Edna L. Johnson, 86, passed away on Thursday, June 6 ,2013 at Bridgewater Center in Hartford City.
Edna was born on April 10, 1927 in Blackford County to Isaac “Ike” and Emalyn (Maish) Jones.  She graduated from Montpelier High School, class of 1945. Edna married Forrest C. Johnson on October 6, 1945 in Pomona, California.
Together they raised four children on their farm in southern Blackford County.  She enjoyed her flowers, chickens and also spent her time painting and drawing.  Edna was a very skilled seamstress and made clothing for all her children.
She is survived by two sons, Forrest “Cliff” Johnson Jr. (Karen Starks), and John J. Johnson, one daughter, Kathleen Logan (Norman), a daughter-in-law, Jenny Johnson, two sisters, Barbara Bolen and Ellen Elliott, as well as nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Forrest Johnson Sr., Edna was preceded in death by a son, Wesley B. Johnson, a brother, Arthur Jones, a sister, Margaret Jones, and a grandson, Joshua J. Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with Pastor Steve DeLisle officiating.   Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Sunday, June 9th from  4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in her name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
