Richard L. Bailey


Harrodsburg, KY

Richard L. Bailey, 76, formerly of Eaton, Indiana, passed away, Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Signature Health Care.

Richard was born on January 6, 1938 in Muncie, Indiana, to Fred and Ethel (Cox) Bailey.  He served his country in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Amvets Post 23. 

Richard worked for Norfolk-Southern for many years, retiring in 1996. 

He is survived by his children: Lori Clements (Gary), Shonda Turner, Angie Schlechty (Steve), and Misty Smith (Jeremy), two brothers, Fred Bailey (Betty), and Chester “Chet” Bailey (Janice), seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, as well as several nieces and newphews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a several brothers and sisters. 

A graveside funeral service with Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Gardens of Memory, Muncie, with Pastor Steve DeLisle officiating. 

Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton.

Hermoine "Kay" Fields


MUNCIE, IN

Hermoine “Kay” Fields, 75, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at her home.

She was born on November 7, 1938 to Herman and Grace (Waskom) Baker in Bedford, Indiana. Kay graduated from Eaton High School in 1956, the University of Saint Francis, and married Robert Fields on March 2, 1962.

Kay worked at Marhoffer’s, Ross Pharmacy and St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, where she worked as a Surgical Technician. In 1974, she started the girls’ softball league in Royerton, Indiana, and coached several teams for many years. Kay was also a member of Eastern Star, the Blackford County Home Ec. Club, and a long-time member of the Eaton First Church of God.

Survivors include five children, Kim (Gordon) Booher, Tracey (Michael) Fox, Scott Fields (Bonnie Lea), Jimmy (Lynn) Fields, and Terrie Fields (Dennis Beaty); a brother, John (Diane) Baker, two sisters, Margaret Niccum, and Patsy (Tom) Graves, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  her  husband, Robert, and a great-grandchild, Tamara Booher.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Andy Denniston officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
