Emmagene Chipps


MUNCIE, IN
Emmagene Chipps, 88, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at her Muncie residence.
She was born on February 20, 1924 to Samuel and Hazel Zook (Kendall) in Huntington County, Indiana. She graduated from Peru High School in 1942 and married Donald Jackson Chipps on June 8th, 1946, he preceded her in death on December 23, 1978.
A Muncie resident for over 50 years, she enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and traveling.
Survivors include a son, James Chipps; daughter, Melinda Chipps; her companion of over 35 years, Byron Miers; a daughter in law, Teresa Chipps, two grandchildren, Leighann (Rick) Clark, and Bradley Chips, a great grandson, Ryan Clark.
Emmagene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Chipps, a brother, Max Kendall, a son, John Chipps, and a daughter-in-law, Dawn Chipps.
Services will be private for the family and burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Arrangements are being handled by Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton.

Jack Cook


 
EATON, IN
Jack Cook, 85, of Eaton, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Albany Nursing Care facility in Albany, IN.
Jack was born November 6, 1927 in Pall Mall, TN to the late Zeb and Lizzie Cook. He served in the United States Army during WWII as a guard during the Nuremberg trials.  He married Novella Robbins, who went to be with the Lord in 2010. He was employed at Indiana Steel and Wire for 30 years. He retired in 1984, and became the “handyman” of Eaton. Above all things, he enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
Jack is survived by a son, Jackie D. Cook (wife, Sharon) of Eaton; two sisters, Mary York of Muncie and Marie Upchurch of Pall Mall, TN; sister-in-law Ruby Cook; three grandchildren, Chris Cook (wife, Angie), Suzanne Blocher (husband, Todd), and Craig Cook (wife, Wendy); five great-grandchildren,  Elizabeth Cook, Dylan Cook, Alexis Cook, Jared Coats, and Emily Coats.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Novella Cook; two infant children, Kathy Sue and Richard; and brothers, Vick Cook and James Cook.
Friends and family may gather to remember Jack Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, from 2:00-4:00 pm.  
Jack’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Wolf River Methodist Church in Pall Mall, TN at 2:00 pm CT.  Friends and Family are welcome to gather one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Local arrangements in Tennessee are being handled by Jennings Funeral Home.

Waltraud (Trudy) U.M. Duke


EATON, IN

Waltraud (Trudy) U.M. Duke, 76, formerly of Eaton, died unexpectedly Monday in Kalamazoo, MI. 

She was born August 31, 1936 in Frankfurt, Germany.  Mrs. Duke was a homemaker who excelled at her profession. Her lifetime passions were her family, enjoyment of other people, fondness of animals, and dedication to her husband of 52 years.

Survivors include her loving husband, Timothy Duke of Michigan; 2 daughters, Monika Harris-Gieschke (husband: Paul) and Sandra Doshi (husband: Robert); a brother, Hans Seipp (wife: Malleas); 7 grandchildren, Austin Duke, Timothy Duke, Jacob Wolin, Hannah Wolin, Emma Doshi, Nathan Doshi, and Sydney Doshi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Karl Seipp; in-laws, Calvin and LaVaughn Duke; and son, Tony Duke.

Trudy grew up in Germany during WWII.  In 1961, she married her beloved Tim, a US Airman, and moved with him to Eaton.  She helped her husband build their home and raise her family.  They later moved to Rochester, IN where they enjoyed a lake home for several years.  In 1997, they moved to Michigan where Trudy enjoyed the remainder of her life watching her grandchildren grow and thrive.

Trudy was a loving, hard-working, fierce defender of her family and friends.  She was first and foremost filled with love and compassion for those less fortunate.  She was spunky, funny, and sassy.  Her quick laughter will be missed.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford Street., with Pastor Anna Shanks of the Eaton United Methodist Church presiding.  Burial will follow the services at Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Friends may call at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of services.

Trudy’s favorite color was purple and purple flowers would be welcome.

Garrie M. Antonini


Muncie, IN
Garrie M. Antonini, 99, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Morrison Woods Health Campus.
Garrie was born on June 18, 1913 to Garrie W. and Nellie (Black) Morris in Eaton, Indiana. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1931 and then attended Ball State College.
She worked as a secretary plant manager at Owens Illinois Glass Company in Muncie for 33 years. Garrie also attended the Eaton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her loving nieces and nephews; Judy Morris (Linwood) Reed, Muncie, Janet Morris, Florida, Janine Edmundsen, Pittsburg, PA., Don (Nan) Morris, Muncie, Richard (Sharon) Morris, Eaton.
Garrie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ettore Antonini; two brothers, James Morris and Wayne Morris; and a sister, Dana Morris Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 11, 2013 and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
Memorials may be to any church, charity, or organization or your choice in Garrie’s name.

Ralph Edward Roberts


EATON, IN
Ralph Edward Roberts, 88, passed away, December 30, 2012 in Bradenton, Florida.
Ralph Edward Roberts was born in Eaton, Indiana, on December 24, 1924 to Ralph Waldo and Freda (Tait) Roberts.  He attended Eaton High School and joined the United States Navy on February 15, 1944. 
He married Thelma Jewel Owen on April 3, 1948, in Muncie.  Ralph worked and retired from Borg-Warner after 35 years of employment.  Ralph was a 32 degree Master Mason, belonging to the Scottish Rite Valley of Ft. Wayne and the Shriners Club..  He was also a member of the American Legion.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Thelma Roberts, son, Gary Roberts (wife, Julie) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Yolanda Wilson (husband, Delmer) of Muncie, three grandchildren: Brian Roberts, Sherri Wilson (husband, Josiah) and Sean Wilson, two great-grandchildren, Paige and Isaiah, and one brother Howard Roberts (wife, Isla).
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a sister Janet Lewis.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton. 
A private family burial will be at Union Cemetery, Eaton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
