David L. Watson


MUNCIE, IN

David L. Watson, 56, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 9, 2013 at home.

David was born on April 1, 1957, in Jellico, Tennessee, to Mary (Cox) and Vinson Watson. He was a 1976 graduate of Delta High School and attended trade school for welding. David married Karen Griffee on August 30, 1991 at their home in Eaton.

David worked for Eaton EMTs, and loved deer hunting, camping, fishing, and football.  He loved watching all the games especially the 49ers and IU.  He was saved at the Eaton First Baptist Church. 

David lived a full life.  He lived life on the edge and lived his 100 years in 56.  Dave loved to cook and especially on the grill.  He was known as the master of the grill.  He was a very courageous man and a devoted husband, son, father, big brother, and grandfather.  His strength will carry his family on.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Watson; children: Tosha Watson (Darius Simon), Maria Kimbrell, David L. Watson II (Emily), Gwen Brannon (Kris Porter), and Shaun Keesling (Kirsten Howe); his mother, Mary Worley; his dog Gizzy, four brothers: Dale Watson, Dickie (Tara) Watson, Jerry Watson (Carol Capper), and Jeff (Michele) Watson; one sister, Dianne (Steve) Young; six grandchildren, Triston, Takoda, Teagan, Kynden, Dylan, and Lilian; and in-laws Troy and Rosemary Griffee, as well as his very special several cousins, nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, Vinson in 1989; a son, Zachary Bear Watson in 1979;  a granddaughter, Evaiya Reign Watson in 2013 and his special dog Outlaw.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 13, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Rev. Clayton Terry and Pastor Dwane Loveless  officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 12, 2013 and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
