Douglas V. Wash, 83, passed
away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 1, 1931
to Raymond and Josephine (Wagner) Wash in Midway, Kentucky. He married Barbara Guthrie on March 12, 1955
in Harrisburg, Kentucky and together they raised six children.
Doug served his country in
the United States Army and later worked at Muncie City Schools for many years. Douglas and Barbara attended the Rushville
Baptist Temple
Survivors include his loving
wife of 59 years, Barbara; six children, Rodney (Lena) Wash, Emily (Larry)
Campbell, Jonathon (Patty) Wash, Melanie (Steve) Siscoe, Joseph (Kim) Wash, and
Tracy (Nathan) Allen; four brothers, fifteen grandchildren, seven
great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews, and a very special
friend Robin Collins.
Douglas was preceded in death
by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services with
Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 1:00
p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford
St., Eaton, with Pastor Gary Evans officiating.
Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Visitation for family and
friends will be from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to services.
