James L. Stottlemyer

ANDERSON,

James L. Stottlemyer, 76, passed Wednesday afternoon, February 8, 2012, at St. John’s Hospital, with his family at his side.

Jim was born on April 6, 1935, in Anderson, the son of Lilburn and Lenna (Hoppes) Stottlemyer, was a 1953 graduate of Anderson High School and a life resident of the area.

He was the founder and president of Stottlemyer Excavating and also a partner in J&K Rods and Restorations.

A member of Whetstone Christian Church, he also was a member of Ovid Lodge #164 F&AM, the Piston Poppers, and the Southside Freedom Fighters.

His loving family includes his wife, J. Elaine Stottlemyer, sons; Scott (Linnette) Stottlemyer, Tim (Shelly) Stottlemyer, all of Anderson, daughter, Jennifer (Eric) Miller, of Carmel, step-sons, Scott E. (Sharon) Hahn, Eaton and Aaron (Erica) Hahn, of Anderson, two sisters; Barbara (George) Whittaker, of Anderson and Marlene (Steve) Collier, Ft. Wayne, grandchildren: Jimmy (Missy) Stottlemeyer, Michael (Heather) Stottlemyer, Emily (John) Tibbs, Erin Stottlemyer, Grace Stottlemyer, Maya Miller, Darby Miller, Michaela Hahn, Nathan Hahn, Austin Hahn, Ryan Hahn, Allison Hahn, Libby Hahn, Cody Smithers, and Tyler Smithers, two great-granddaughters, Riley DeHart and Haylee Stottlemyer, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Janet (Lawson) Stottlemyer and two daughters, Tammy Stottlemyer in 1966 and Cheryl Stottlemyer in 1967.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, February 13, 2012 in the Whetstone Christian Church, 5940 S. Madison Ave. Anderson with Pastors Steve Gettinger, Andy Denniston and Steve Delisle presiding. Burial will follow the service at Anderson Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 12, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson from 2:00 until 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the service, Monday at the church. A Masonic service will be at 7:00 pm. Sunday at the funeral home.
