Jacob M. Bainter


EATON, IN

Jacob Bainter, 17, passed away at Park View Hospital in Ft. Wayne on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from injuries suffered in an auto accident.

Jacob was born on April 29, 1996 to Rebecca “Reba” Darnell.  Jacob was a junior at Cowan High School and attended the Muncie Area Career Center, studying auto mechanics. He participated in Drama Club, band and was also on the Cowan Golf League.

Jacob enjoyed being with his family, target shooting with his dad and brother, sitting around a campfire, hanging out with his friends, all kinds of music, the San Franscisco ‘49ers, his cat, Emmy, helping people, and making everyone laugh.  Jacob loved rockin-it on SkyRim.

Jacob left to cherish his memory, his mother, Reba Darnell (companion, Troy Coons), his dad, Gentry Keith Brown, his brothers, Matthew Brown, and Coby Chadwick-Bainter, his sister, Krista Brown, a nephew, Wyatt Pittsford, a niece, Kaylynn Pittsford, his maternal grandparents, Gene and Marcella Darnell, his great-grandmother, Catherine Darnell, uncles, James Darnell (companion, Deena Stephens), Tony (Tammy) Brown, Aunts, Gini (Lloyd) Johnson, Becky (Andy) Fraizer, and Shonda Bainter (companion, Jan Borem), as well as several great aunts and uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Margie Lawson, Gentry Brown, Tom Bainter, Sharon Holley, and two great-grandfathers, Cleatus “Pete” Darnell, and Marvel “Bob” Darnell, and great-grandmother, Violet Darnell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with Pastor Steve Arnett presiding. Burial will follow in Black Cemetery in Albany.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Marion Wayne Hutchens


 

EATON, IN

Marion Wayne Hutchens, 66, also known as Cowboy, passed away, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his sister’s house in Eaton, following 13 years of fighting cancer.

Wayne lived in Delaware County all his life. He was born on October 29, 1946 in Muncie, Indiana to Marion and Ethel (Matchett) Hutchens.

He attended many schools in Delaware County, and graduated from Eaton High School.

Wayne was proud to serve his country in the Navy, doing three tours in Vietnam from 1966 to 1970.  Wayne worked at Chevrolet in Muncie, and later at Guide Lamp in Anderson for over 21 years.


He was a member of the Middletown American Legion Post #0216.

He loved oil painting, wood working, texting, fishing on his bench at his sister’s place in Eaton. He also had a special connection with animals. They all loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Timithy Hutchens (friend, Stephanie) and Scott Hutchens (Kerrie), his mother, Ethel Hutchens, three sisters: Judy Hines (Phil), Lilly Ramsey, and Wanda Chriswell (Jim), one brother, Bob Hutchens (Donna), five grandchildren: Candace Hutchens, Ashlee Fisk (Zack), Cortney Badders, Michael Hutchens, and Krysti Peckham, and five great-grandchildren, as wells as several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, his wife, Linda, two brothers, Stanley Hutchens and Danny Bailey, a brother-in-law, John Ramsey,

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Brian Ramsey officiating.  Burial with Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation for friends and family, will be on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Mark A. Grove


 

EATON, IN

Mark A. Grove, 33, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Mark was born on February 15, 1980 in Muncie, Indiana to James and Melinda Grove.  He graduated from Delta High School in 1999 and went on to work for Marsh Supermarkets in Muncie.  He most recently worked as a greeter for Walmart on the south side of Muncie. 

He was a member of Troop 28 and later became an assistant leader.  Mark was a member of the Eaton Volunteer Fire Department for over 13 years.  The fire department was Mark’s life.  He was well known around Eaton for volunteering for many town functions.  Mark will be missed not only by his family, but by his community.

He is survived by his mother, Melinda Grove, his father, James Grove, his twin brother, Matt Grove, Uncle John Stephenson (wife, Sharon), Aunt Kathy Robinette (husband, Ron), Uncle Dan Reed (wife, Debbie), as well as several great-aunts and uncles, several cousins, his pride and joy, his cats: Sammy and Velvet, as well as his Eaton Fire Department family.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents as well as several great-aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Eaton First Church of God, 700 E. Harris St., Eaton, with Pastor Steve DeLisle presiding.  Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation for friends and family will be on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Eaton First Church of God and from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday at the church.

Roberta "Sue" Provost


ALBANY, IN

Roberta “Sue” Provost, 68, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at her residence in Albany, Indiana.

Sue was born on June 18, 1945 to Charles and Carol (Pittenger) Ebrite in Muncie, Indiana. She was a graduate of Royerton High School, completed her undergraduate at Purdue University and her Master’s Degree at Ball State. She had worked as a home educator, and a teacher in several states including Indiana, Ohio, and Washington. Sue had also worked for Purdue Extension and Rivars.

She belonged to the Eden Church in Muncie, and was a member of Twin Pines Co-Op, Purdue Home Extension, 4-H member & leader, Purdue Alumni and most recently was on the committee for her 50th class reunion.

Sue was an incredible seamstress and was famous for her Halloween costumes.  She loved baking and cheering on her Indiana teams: the Boilers, Colts, and Pacers.  

Survivors include two children, Ed Provost, and Michel (Ralph) Henderson; three grandchildren, Connor Henderson, Jaren and Addison Provost; a sister, Janet (Ogal) Claspell, and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Ebrite, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Carol, and a brother, Donald Ebrite.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, Indiana. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
