EATON, IN
John R. Tatman, 77, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012
at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
John was born on August 11, 1935 in Matthews, Indiana to Paul R. and
Kathleen L. (Atkinson) Tatman. He
graduated from IP Gray in New Mt. Pleasant and married the love of this life,
Elizabeth (Betty) Holmes on April 7, 1956.
Mr. Tatman worked for 3M in Hartford City for 38 years and
served in the Indiana National Guard for 8 years. John lived in the Eaton area for most of his
life and was a familiar face around Eaton from walking and bicycling. He enjoyed canoeing, fishing, camping and
handyman work.
John was a member of the Eaton Lodge #606 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (Betty)
Tatman, one daughter, Terry Blair (Richard)of Farmland, one son, John David
Tatman, of Berne; granddaughter, Christina Renner, his great-grandchildren: Darin Abner (Amanda),
Justin Abner, and Cody Abner, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a
son, Robert J. Tatman.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at
11:30 a.m. at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with
Rev. Teal Younce presiding. Cremation
will follow the services, with ashes being interred in Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Tuesday, August
14 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. , and one hour prior to services Wednesday, at the
funeral home. A Masonic Service will be
held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday.

in his name to the American Stroke Association.
