Ruth E. Turner, 90

Muncie, IN

Ruth E. Turner, 90, died Wednesday morning, June 30, 2010 at her home.

A native of Illinois, she was born December 18. 1919, one of nine children to Dennie and Iva Wright. She graduated from Royerton High School in 1937. Ruth married Wilbur L. Turner on October 21, 1939. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2006.

Ruth was a homemaker and member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church. She and her husband enjoyed spending over 30 years in the Ft. Myers, Florida area during the winter season. She also spent over 500 hours volunteering in the floral department at Ball Memorial Hospital.

Ruth was a wonderful mentor to her family and friends through out her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Harper of Muncie, and Janet Pflaum of Big Bear Lake, CA, three grandchildren, Chad Pittenger, Minneapolis, MN, Laura Harper, Muncie, and Jennifer Harper, Dallas, TX, five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Bethany, Dylan Ruble, Alexandria and Jack Cahill, one brother. Robert Wright, four sisters: Mrs Dale (Mary) Fight, Muncie, Mrs Robert (Helen) Boggs, Selma, Mrs Rebecca Gibson, Muncie, and Mrs Virginia Richards, Matthews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother Paul Wright, and two sisters, Betty Morrical, Sally Summer, and a son-in-law John Harper.

Friends and family are to gather at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. St. Rd 3, Muncie on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm . A celebration of life service will begin at 5:00 pm, with burial following at Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Robert F. Keller, 85

MUNCIE, IN

Robert F. Keller, 85, passed away, Friday, July 2, 2010 in Ball Memorial Hospital.

The son of Floyd and Lela (Russell) Keller, he was born, March 25, 1925 in Blackford County. Robert served his country in the US Navy during WWII and married Norma Fisher on May 16, 1948 in Newport, RI.

Robert worked for Ontario Corporation as a Project Engineer retiring in 1980. He was a member of the De Soto United Methodist Church and the American Legion of Muncie. In addition to his love of fishing, he was an avid gardener, taking great pride in his “tomato trees”.

He is survived by a daughter, Karen Gibson (husband, Danial), Muncie, two grandchildren, Adam Gibson, (wife, Dinah), Yorktown, and Alaina Gibson, Los Angles, CA, two great-grandchildren, Danial and Juliet Gibson, four brothers, Gene Keller (wife, Margaret), Philadelphia, PA, Phil Keller, Linden, TN, Fred Keller, (wife, Beth) Ft. Worth, TX, and Joe Keller of Arizona, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Norma (Fisher) Keller, a son Gary Keller, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am., Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with Pastor Daryl Hamlyn presiding. Burial with Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Tuesday, July 6, and one hour prior to services Wednesday..
