M.V. “Junior” Neal


Hartford City, IN

M.V. “Junior” Neal, 57, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Junior was born on January 31, 1957 to Barbara (Stockton) and M.V. Neal Sr. in Albany, Kentucky.

He attended Cowan High School, and was a self-employed mechanic and handyman. He was an avid hunter, shooter, and loved camping.

Junior shared his life with his love, Kathleen (Atkinson) Neal for over 32 years.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Neal, daughter, Kiley Jo Neal, mother, Barbara Cook, four brothers, James “Jim”, Randy, Mike, and Greg Neal; three sisters, Lois Clevenger, Martha (David) Morrison, and Nell (Brian) Rice, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, M.V. Neal Sr., a brother, Tommy, and two nephews, Randall “Bubby” Neal and Christopher Neal.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Eaton First Church of God, 700 E. Harris St., with Pastor Andy Denniston officiating.  A private burial will be at Elizabethtown Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, November 21, and one hour prior to the start of the service on Saturday, at the church.

Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St. #100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46278.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton.

Paul E. Whitaker


Muncie, IN

Paul Whitaker, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 10, 2014 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Paul was born on March 2, 1943 to Orville Eugene and Pearl May Whitaker in Muncie.  He attended Muncie Central High School before serving his country in the Army.

On June 6, 1971, he married Freida Cooper in the Eaton First Baptist Church.   Paul worked for Meadow Gold Dairy, and Ball State University, retiring in 2006.

Paul was a member of the Eaton First Baptist Church, loved to go camping and go to old car shows. He especially loved his grandkids and dogs.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Freida; sons, Paul Whitaker Jr., Lonny (Sandy) Whitaker, Troy (Melissa) Whitaker, and a daughter, Paula Whitaker; his mother, Pearl Koger, a brother, Gene (Laura) Whitaker, a sister, Marla (Don) Norton, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Extended family members include: the Payne family, Toomey family, West family, Dunn family, Harper family and Grubbs family, Paul’s four legged babies: Peggy Sue, James Dean and grand-dog, Zeus, all of which he loved very much,

He was preceded in death by his father, Orville, two sons, Mark and Bradley Whitaker, two sisters, Rosemary Carr and Helen Hardin, and 3 grandsons, Todd, William, and Hunter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Eaton First Baptist Church, 510 E. Columbia Ave., with Pastor Mark Wilkerson officiating. Burial with Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., and one hour prior to the start of the service on Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Eaton First Baptist Church.
