Faye A. Waldo

Faye A. Waldo

 Faye Ann Roberts Waldo went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, August 22, 2014 at her home in Fort Myers, FL after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on September 5th, 1935 in Muncie, IN, to the late Ward Roberts and Lovell B. Edmonds Roberts. Faye graduated from Muncie Central in 1953 and the former Ball State Nursing College. During her nursing career at the former Ball Hospital, Faye met a patient and the love of her life, John David Waldo. They were married on March 9, 1956 at the Eaton Methodist Church. During their time together, they had two sons: David Emerson (deceased) and Mark Edward (Janet) Waldo.

Faye was also a nurse for Dr. Weisner in Eaton before retiring to farm. Faye and John bought their dream home in Matlacha, FL in 1979. She moved to Fort Myers in 1995 after the loss of John.

 In Fort Myers she was a member of the McGregor Baptist Church. Faye was an amazing wife, mother and aunt. Her home was always open to family and friends. Faye’s chicken and dumplings were requested at every family gathering.

 In addition to her son Mark, she will be sadly missed by granddaughter, Casy (Craig) Penix, great-granddaughters, Mareah and Ellie Penix,  nieces Yvonne Pine, Judi (Gaylord) Stough and Jan (Steve) Wiese.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Steve DeLisle officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation for friends and family will be at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 and one hour prior to services Friday.

H. Gale Pitman


EATON, IN

H. Gale Pitman, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 22, 2014 at his home, of natural causes.

Gale was born on May 8, 1943 to Robert M. and Iva A. (Thompson) Pitman in Cains Store, Kentucky. He grew up in Eaton and is a life resident of this area.

He worked at Atlin Construction, Serv-o-mation, Commonwealth Insurance, Harry Ganey Ford in Hartford City, and was a co-owner of G & D Auto Sales in Eaton. Gale loved automobiles and attending car shows. He was a regular with “the Eaton Breakfast Club”.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl (Brad) Taflinger, Muncie, and a son, David (Stefanie) Pitman, Muncie, two grandchildren, Kilee and Cullen Taflinger, two brothers, Roger (Cathy) Pitman, and Rick Pitman, two sisters, Mary (Chuck) Smithers, and Lynn Cruea, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Iva;  sisters, Christine Pitman, Doris Dunlap, Lucille Williams, Kimberly Polios, Beverly Koons, and Sandra Rees; and brothers, Vernon Lee Pitman and Glen Pitman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Andy Denniston officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Eaton.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and an hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Eaton Food Pantry, 301 E. Harris St., Eaton.
