Emil F. (Maverick) Campbell, 78

MT. PLEASANT, IN

Emil F. (Maverick) Campbell, 78, passed away, February 14, 2011 at his home.

He was born on July 4, 1932 to Herchel and Stella May (Irvine) Campbell in Cains Store, Kentucky. An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he married Carolyn Reynolds on October 1, 1955 in Eaton.

Emil retired from Delco Battery after 37 years of employment, was a member of the UAW, and also worked for Ebright’s Orchard many years ago. He was a resident of the Mt. Pleasant area for over 20 years, and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Emil is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Campbell, his children: Larry Wayne Campbell (wife, Emily), Muncie, Shonda Kay Cambell, Muncie, and Cheryl Renee Hayes (husband, Joseph L.) also of Muncie; grandchildren: Megan Smith, Michael, Jeffery, Ember, David, and Autumn Campbell, sisters: June Brewster, of Russell Springs, KY, and Lois Terry, Bronston, KY, sister-in-law, Joyce Campbell, Mt. Pleasant, daughter-in-law, Cathy Campbell, Muncie and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Lynn Campbell in 1966 , a son, Gail Lee Campbell in 2009, and a brother Glen Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, with Rev. Kirby Garrett presiding. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. and one hour prior to services Saturday.

CLAUDE GORDON PRYOR

Hartford City, IN

Claude Gordon Pryor, 78, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011.

He was born on April 4, 1932 in Scott County, Tennessee, to Jesse J. and Julia (Clark) Pryor. He married Doris Jean Allen on April 4, 1953 in Hartford City. An Eaton resident for over 45 years, Gordon, resided in Hartford City for the past 13 years.

Gordon retired from RockTenn of Eaton in 1985. He was a former Board Member of Union Cemetery, where he was a major contributor of his time and efforts towards the upkeep of the cemetery as well as assisting in burials. He was a member of the Avondale Sympathy Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years, Doris Pryor, are his children: Claude Gene Pryor of Muncie, Sharon Glaser (husband, Bill), of Muncie, Virginia Rouse (husband, Randy), of Muncie, and Jackson Eric Pryor (wife, Lisa), of Eaton, eight grandchildren: Michael Pryor, Jesse Pryor, Matthew Pryor, Shane Slaven, Jenny Conner, Jacob Glaser, Kenneth Pryor and Kathleen Pryor and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Elbert and Paul Pryor, four sisters: Margaret Bowling, Evelyn Goad, Aleas Jones, and Jewel Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Rev. Harrison Williams presiding. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
