Robert A. "Bob" Penrod, 72

EATON, IN

Robert A. “Bob” Penrod, 72, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 in Ball Memorial Hospital.

The son of Steven and Marjorie (Carmichael) Penrod, he was born May 7, 1938 in Eaton. He attended Eaton schools and married Sandra Clevenger on September 25, 1959 in Eaton.

A Navy veteran, Bob worked for Chevrolet of Muncie for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the UAW #499. An avid fisherman, Bob also loved the Chicago Cubs, the Colts and the Pacers.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Penrod, son Greg Penrod (wife, Deborah), daughter, Janet White (husband, Brian), and son Tony Penrod (wife, Michelle); his mother: Marjorie Penrod, as well as 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Penrod and his brother, Edward Penrod.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Randy Davis presiding. Burial with Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow at Gardens of Memory.

Friends may call from 11:00 am until services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in his name to charity of the donor’s choice.

Dolores E. Walton, 83

Hartford City, IN

Dolores E. Walton, 83, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at her home.

The daughter of Albert J. and Sylvia (Davis) Walton, she was born on November 8, 1926 in La Porte. Dolores was raised in La Porte, graduated from La Porte High School, and studied Library Science in college.

Dolores worked in the office at Allis-Chalmers and later retired from La Porte Library, where she drove the book mobile. She resided the past six years in Hartford City.

Dolores was a loving child of God and spent much of her life serving God through working in the church and by caring for others. When there was a church dinner to be prepared, a child to be nurtured, her mother to be nursed, or friends to be encouraged and supported she was there to help. Her family and friends will miss her but know that God and God’s angels and saints rejoice at her homecoming.

Survivors include her brother, Albert Walton (wife, Gail), of Arlington Heights, IL, two nieces, Becky and Stephanie; one nephew, Ben; heart-sister, Penny Brown; 1 great-niece and 1 great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Earl Walton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, September 6, 2010 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 301 E. Harris St., Eaton, with the Rev. Teal Younce presiding. A meal will be served at the church following services.

Friends may call on Monday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, at the church.

Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 7 at 2:00 pm at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte.
